A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Segun Dokun Odebunmi, popularly known as Bunvic, has declared that he harbours no personal political ambition ahead of 2027, insisting that his sole focus is the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Odebunmi made the declaration while inaugurating a Tinubu Support Group in Surulere Local Government Area of Oyo State, describing the move as part of a broader grassroots mobilisation strategy to consolidate support for the President.
“I don’t have any ambition for now other than Tinubu’s re-election bid,” Bunvic stated emphatically, urging party faithful to close ranks and begin early ward-to-ward and unit-to-unit mobilisation.
The former Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Information, National Orientation, Values and Ethics said the Tinubu administration’s economic reforms, though challenging, are necessary to stabilise the nation and reposition the economy for long-term growth.
He argued that continuity in leadership would enable the government to fully implement its policies and deepen ongoing reforms aimed at strengthening the naira and improving national development.
The meeting, held at Iresa-Pupa Town Hall, also witnessed the defection of several members of the opposition party, a development Odebunmi described as a sign of growing confidence in the APC and the Tinubu administration ahead of the 2027 general elections.
