In a nation hungry for hope and leadership anchored in compassion, Hon. Olamijuwonlo Ayodeji Alao Akala, Member of the House of Representatives for Ogbomoso North, South, and Oriire Federal Constituency, has rekindled the flame of possibility with a powerful gesture of encouragement and inspiration.
In celebration of Children’s Day 2025, Hon. Akala awarded a full university scholarship to Adeleke Joshua Adedamola, a bright young student of Smith International Baptist Academy, Ogbomoso, who scored an astounding 350 in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) — the highest in the constituency.
Describing Joshua as “an intelligent boy with great promise,” Hon. Akala held a personal video call with the scholar and his proud parents, congratulating them and pledging to sponsor Joshua’s university education in any institution of his choice in Nigeria.
“Go out and continue shining, star boy. Keep the flag flying high—I’ll be rooting for you,” he said.
This act of generosity is not just about funding education — it is a bold, symbolic step by a young lawmaker determined to build a legacy of his own, while honouring the towering name he bears. As the son of the late Governor Adebayo Alao-Akala, Hon. Olamijuwonlo Akala has inherited a legacy of leadership — and with each step, he is proving that he is not merely following in his father’s footsteps, but paving his own distinct path of purpose, people-centered governance, and enduring impact.
Across his constituency, he is earning a reputation for robust representation, genuine concern for youth development, and steady commitment to educational upliftment. These are the marks of a leader not driven by entitlement, but by vision.
We commend this noble act, and we remind Hon. Akala: Such good deeds will speak long after the applause fades. Keep pressing forward — the summit of true statesmanship is still ahead, and we eagerly await your arrival on the mountain of national representation.
In an era when politics often forgets the people, Hon. Olamijuwonlo Akala is choosing to remember — and in doing so, he is being remembered.
Keep shining, honorable. The future belongs to builders like you.
